How it works
Your car, on the record.
Earned with evidence.
How a car's record is built, from the garage to the start line to a reviewed result. Each step says whether it works today.
The journey
Five steps, one car.
01 / Garage
Available nowAdd your car
Create an account and add the car to your garage: make, model, year, colour and photos.
Planned, not live yet: a permanent identity for the car that keeps its history across owners and drivers.
Power, weight and tyre details are your own description of the car. They never set its class.
02 / Event
Available nowRace at an organised event
Enter through the organiser, at a controlled venue, under their rules and licences. RaceAmate does not run events or take entries.
Check the and , then confirm with the organiser.
03 / Capture
In developmentRecord the evidence
The RaceAmate iPhone app (in development) records original video of the start light alongside raw data from a compatible Dragy unit. It then binds that evidence to the car, driver, event and course.
04 / Review
In developmentThe server re-checks it
The phone submits evidence; it does not award a result. The server rebuilds the run from the raw evidence, re-runs the checks and records which software version did it.
05 / Progress
In developmentClass, records and rivalries
Eligible results can set the car's class floor and move it up, add records to its history and give rivalries context for a rematch. Brackets and rules will be published before any competitive use.
What a review can say
Three outcomes. No guessing.
When evidence can't settle something, the answer is “not yet”, not a best guess.
Eligible
The evidence is complete, consistent and within the agreed rules. Only eligible performance can set or raise a class.
Inconclusive · review required
Something is missing, uncertain or disagrees. It stays unresolved and goes to a person. It is never guessed into a result. Drivers see “Under review”.
Not eligible
The evidence shows the run cannot count, for example a start outside the organiser's tolerance. A ruling always carries a written reason.
Uncertain evidence stays inconclusive and goes to a person.
What you'll need
Kit and conditions.
An iPhone
App in developmentCapture runs through the RaceAmate iPhone app. It is not on the App Store yet.
A compatible Dragy
The measurement design uses compatible Dragy hardware. You provide your own unit.
An organised event
A controlled venue, the organiser's rules and the right licence. Never public roads.
Questions
Straight answers.
Does RaceAmate decide who won?
No. The organiser's officials run the event and make the calls. RaceAmate reviews the evidence it is given and explains what that evidence shows, including when it can't show anything.
Is RaceAmate part of Roll Racing Australia or King of the Streets?
No. RaceAmate is independent. There is no partnership, sanction or insurance approval. Event details on this site are a guide; the organiser's own site is the authority.
Do I need a dyno sheet or a list of mods?
No. Classes will come from eligible, demonstrated performance, not from declared power, dyno results or modification lists. Specs in your garage describe the car; they don't set its class.
What happens to times I submitted before?
They are kept and still shown on the Boards, marked as legacy submissions. They were recorded under earlier rules, so they don't establish a class or eligibility under the new system.
Is the number on my phone my official time?
No. What the phone shows is a claim. The server rebuilds the run from the raw evidence, and only that re-derived, reviewed result can ever count.
Can I use RaceAmate for runs on public roads?
No. RaceAmate is for organised events at controlled venues only.
